FIGMENT RANCH

Figment Ranch would like to introduce you our friends, Dan and Beverly Johnson of DBJ Ranch, Giddings Texas. 

Dan first began working with llamas in 1989 with his wife Beverly “Bev” Johnson.  They purchased their first llama in 1990 at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (The Houston Llama Sale)   Their first llama is still living with Dan and Bev at their DBJ Ranch in Giddings Texas today.  (and I might add, her looks have not improved over the years)

Both Dan and Bev wanted to start showing.  They agreed that Dan would work and train the performance llamas and Bev would work and train the halter llamas.   So they did just that ….

Dan began working and training performance llamas in 1993.  Dan began with High Rollin’Hannah, moved on to SSLR Navajo’s Inka, BSB Salvador, and retiring with Sharp’s Ballybran, having made 3 performance champions during this time.  In fact, Dan went out with a blaze of glory, receiving a Reserve Performance Champion with his ‘ol buddy, Bally at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2005.

Bev has gone on to receive numerous Halter Champions.  Bev will spend hours making sure her animals are groomed to perfection and she shows this in the ShowRing every time she comes out with a blue ribbon.  (If you need any advice in the grooming arena, just ask Bev!)

Dan and Bev have been involved with the South Central Llama Association (SCLA) for a very long time.  Because of their dedication to the SCLA, we have all thrived in the llama world.
